We live in Marion, MA. got stuck in a huge unexpected storm with huge winds and large waves and our steering mechanism failed. Tow Boat US wouldn't keep us off the rocks and the USCG was waved off by the Tow Boat and we crashed onto the rocky shore relatively quickly. The boat was left to get totaled on the rocks overnight as the tide came up and the next day all was filled with salt water, mud and sand.

Sounds horrible. Sorry for your loss.
I'm interested in anchor/rode/Chain , autohelm stuff, and possibly mainsail (dimensions would be helpful).
I sent a pm it will be lost amongst the others perhaps.

Sorry about the boat loss. There's a guy in VA who needs a new rudder if your rudder survived the grounding.

Re: listing of items available after our grounding and loss of our Bristol.

They can find it on COPART as that is where they sent our Bristol 35.5C. They may be able to see a photo of it at their yard. This is the "junk yard" in our area of boats and lost cars.....sorry we could not take most things as they were "attached" to the boat.

Re: listing of items available after our grounding and loss of our Bristol.

I'm very interested in your SailOMat windvane. My Bristol 40 has a SAILOMAT 3040 on the stern which is complete and operable except for one part: SM-391. I emailed Stellan Knoos (the patent holder of the SAILOMAT) in 2008, and his unhelpful reply was to "consider custom manufacturing the SM-391 in bronze as it is quite simple for a machine shop". With time constraints we sailed for 3 years without the part. If you have that part I'll purchase it for a reasonable price. Please advise. St. Petersburg, Fl. Phone 727-522-1979. Don Haynie
