MAX-PROP 19" 3 BLADE CLASSIC

It's breaking my heart to sell this prop. I bought it used on this Forum the first day it was listed. Had the seller send it directly to PYI to be fully reconditioned. Went to install it on our Freedom 40 and it WOULD NOT FIT OUR SMALL APERTURE OPENING !!!! What a bummer !!!!

This prop will fit a 1 1/8" to 1 3/8" shaft , RH or LH , 19"
Just want our money invested back. As good as new.
$2200 plus Shipping (1000 original purchase 1152 reconditioning )

That's a bummer for you. It's a good deal for someone.

Good luck.
Paul.

Or just switch out the blades.

Re: MAX-PROP 19" 3 BLADE CLASSIC

Having had some experience with MaxProps, yes, they are great! That sounds a bit big for a 40' boat. Have the blades cut down to 18"-17" if that will fit. I got a MaxProp on line very reasonable, but 18" was too big for the Atomic 4 in a 33 ft boat, so had them cut down to 15". Got the new profiles from MaxProp directly and done in Canada/Toronto for less than PYI quoted, in Cdn$ and no shipping, duty etc. Cost me about CD$400 Well worth it!!

Re: MAX-PROP 19" 3 BLADE CLASSIC

The diameter of the prop is not the issue , it is too long for the available space between the cutlass bearing and the rudder.

Traditional types would cut a scallop out of the front of the rudder (!)

I have a factory re-firb thats never been mounted as well. Its 18” dia withe the hub measuring 7” long. I would be willing to trade with you if this might work for you as i need the bigger dia anyways.

Mine is in the same condition as yours.

Re: MAX-PROP 19" 3 BLADE CLASSIC

We al sf o have a F40 and are looking to repower and fit a feathering prop. The gentleman suggesting to make the aperture larger by taking out part of the rudder doesn't realize that the barn door style rudder has a full length rudder shaft along the leading edge.

We are looking at the Featherstream prop. I also considered the Autostream but the body was marginally too long.

Before we put the boat back in the water after our failed Max-prop go, we templated the area and downloaded and printed sized to actual 19" Featherstream , looks like it should fit without issue.

What hull# do you own ?
