Monitor Windvane for wheel steered sailboat. This particular one was fitted to a Catalina 320. Barely used, about 1000nm on Lake Ontario. The unit has never seen saltwater. You may need to fit different tubes or do some minor alterations to fit your boat.

The unit steers like a dream and is worth every penny!

New unit from Scanmar is $5,000, asking $2,500 OBO.

Just moved to Birmingham and put the boat in a reservoir in the Tennessee river. Obviously don’t need self steering gear here. Will update with photo soon. I don’t subscribe to the newspaper!

Welcome to this forum, afeyling. Most sailors, and most people, are honest and rip-offs are rare. But they do happen - even here.

I sold an older Monitor here a few months ago and I expect you will find a buyer here. Fair winds.

I have lost count of the number of attempted scams I have received via pm re my Aries windvane wanted post. But, for what it's worth, Afeyling sounds legit to me. Still, considering all that's gone on here with these attempted scams, asking any new poster for a photo of the item with a newspaper is probably a good idea.
