No longer need Aries windvane

We've just removed the less-common stainless/bronze model Aries from our Mariner 31 ketch in Pto Escondido, Baja, Mexico. Vane has worked perfectly on several crossings of the Sea of Cortez, and on the previous owner's singlehanded passage from San Francisco, and was probably on the boat when the owners before that went to the Caribbean. Friends did a leisurely circumnavigation with this model on their Peterson 44. However Gary doesn't like the fact that the air blade doesn't fold down and interferes with the mizzen, and since a retiring-cruiser friend in NZ offered us his recent-model Monitor, he's made the change. I'm still in NZ so unsure what spares come with it, but the PO was very well prepared. Unable to figure out posting a picture here, can email a general picture of the boat and vane if you pm me, or email Gary at osopretty333@gmail.com. Asking US$750.
After failing to receive a windlass gypsy that a friend shipped to us from CA last year we recommend picking up in person. Loreto intl airport is only as few miles away.

Re: No longer need Aries windvane

Being several thousand miles from the boat and of a botanical rather than mechanical bent, it's hard to say from that shot...it certainly has bronze bits on it. It has a somewhat slender, vertical appearance compared to most other vanes. We had one of the kiwi bootleg Aries on our old 28-footer, and this one is nothing like that. best bet for anyone interested is to contact Gary directly.

Aha! Didn't realise there were more pages, El P. The picture the the top of page 3 looks like it, i recognise the bronze loop. It's an elegant looking thing.
