old Furlex model C

We broke the spindle tube that goes down through the center of the lower swivel unit and no parts are available, so I'm replacing the lot. The lower bearing balls escaped, but all else is present and was functional prior to the breakage (which was due to op error in the dark of a 0200 watch)

Thus there is a nearly complete Furlex C unit, around 15.5 m foil length with a 10 mm Dyform wire stay available for free at t he Kettering (Little Oyster Cove) marina in Tasmania. I'll be removing it sometime this coming week so if anyone can use it, come and get it! You will need to disassemble for transport, and I will be too busy to be of much help.

BTW, the wire is only 6 years old, and the upper terminal will be removed for use on the new one.

Hope it will be of some use to someone.

Jim

Re: old Furlex model C

Someone has said they want the furler, and are willing to rendezvous with it when the new one comes (and the stay is not still supporting the mast), so it is no longer available.
