Want To Buy: Paper Charts

Not sure if anyone has any paper charts floating around that they're ready to toss. I'm interested if you do. Shipping would need to be to Canada but I'm guessing would be relatively inexpensive if folded into a manilla envelope.

Main areas I'm looking for are the US coastline, Mexico, Hawaii, Tonga/Fiji, New Zealand, South Pacific

I have about 75 US government charts circa 1980. They cover roughly from the Bay of Fundy to the Chesapeake. They include both large and small scale. I will sell them for 150 plus shipping. They are folded and in good shape.

Tidjian, if you're looking for free charts, might be well advised to at least pay the shipping. You do not want to make so many creases in them as to fit in a manila envelope. Creases can obscure data. If folded twice, a chart will fit in some shipping boxes, and a bunch of them together will be heavy.

Put a different way, if I wanted to get rid of my old charts, I wouldn't want to pay $100 to give them away. ymmv

It would be very nice for you to find such a benefactor.

US west coast & Hawaiian charts are FREE on the internet from noaa.

I sailed form SF to Vancouver Island. While I was able to borrow paper charts of large scale for cruising from harbor to harbor, I would have been just as well off with printed charts off noaa. For that particular trip, but would work for you, too.

You have to give before you receive.

If you happen to buy someone's boat that used to be a cruiser, he may have charts also.

My boat came with those large paper chart booklets which covered from the Canadian Border to Florida with a separate booklet for the Bahamas and several separate individual charts for the area near Massachusetts (where the PO was from) and for the Chesapeake Bay

The charts and the booklets were all under the V Berth Cushions. I never did get to speak to the PO or his son. I learned about the boat and what came with it on my on

Oh, I wasn't asking for free charts. Of course I'll pay the shipping as well lol. If you want to give them away that's more than fine but if you want a reasonable price that's fine too.

I've plenty Hawaii charts, some with the good routes already lain . The waters between island can be treacherous and almost always are. I could look and might have the central pac which should cover east cost mainland to Hawaii. Old to new versions. Cheers
