For Sale: Perkins 4.108M engine

$2000 OBO Running and recently rebuilt Perkins 4.108M. Engine was overhauled with mechanic friend in 2014/15 and has approx 380 hours since. New pistons, rings, sleeves, valves, guides, bearings (0.010"over) etc. etc. Professionally rebuilt injector pump (CAV type), starter motor, alternator (40A) etc. Recent water pump, trans/oil cooler, etc. Good heat exchanger. I failed to retorque head bolts at 50 hours and head gasket has failed. Motor starts and runs fine but is blowing exhaust into cooling system. The motor is difficult to service in my boat and I am done with it and going to repower.

Engine is currently in my garage in Cincinnati. Somewhat disassembled (expansion tank, exhaust manifold, starter etc.) for removal from boat but is complete. Would like to sell complete to someone who can use it but will consider parting out if no one is interested. SOO many spare parts (starter solenoids, gaskets, injectors, etc).

This is my posting and I realize the price is too high. I live in Cincinnati but make frequent trips to the Chesapeake north of Deltaville to work on my boat. If you live in that area and want to discuss whole engine/transmission (Velvet Drive 71C with 2.10:1 reduction) or parts, please contact me.
