Rainman watermaker - gasoline unit w/compact membranes

We are currently in the Bahamas and are about to head back across the Gulf Stream to Florida and up to Connecticut which is our home base. It’s going to be a few more years before we head south on the boat again, so we are selling our Rainman watermaker. We bought it one year ago and it has less than 32 hours on it.

We have the portable gasoline unit with the compact membranes and the integrated flow gauge. The rated output is 13-18 gallons per hour and we have consistently seen 18 gallons in the Bahamas and 13 gallons on the ICW. It runs for 70 minutes on a quarter of a gallon of gasoline, and we have always used non-ethanol gasoline in it. You can find more information on the Rainman website at www.rainmandesal.com.

Included with the watermaker is a 33 foot extension hose for reaching the forward water tank, 10 spare pre-filters as of right now (the number will decrease as we head north because we put in a pre-filter every four uses on the ICW), 2 pounds of pickling solution, a quart of high pressure pump oil, a spare impeller, a digital TDS meter, instruction manual, and a spare carburetor and gaskets.

The watermaker runs like a champ and is particularly good for smaller boats without much space (we have a Bristol 29.9 sailboat). We keep the power supply unit in our deep lazarette and the membranes in our quarterberth.

The unit and the extra parts new are $6,100 plus sales tax. We are selling it for $4,500, cash only. I have a video that shows it running and in use from when we made water today that I can forward. We will not ship it, but we will be in Vero Beach, FL in another week or so, weather permitting.

We plan to make our way up the East Coast via the ICW and outside hops with a target arrival in Groton, Connecticut by the end of May, so if you are anywhere between Florida and New England, we can work something out so you can pick it up.
