Yes, Sayes rig and Auto helm are both made by Scanmar, but are totally different in principle and operatioin... totally!

I used one on my 31’ Grampian ketch for a LA to Fiji and return singlehanded adventure back in 1978. Rudder was far forward of transom and required a LONG trombone slide on the rudder. It worked great upwind and downwind. Only drawback was putting the servopendulum back trough the trombone while switching from motoring to sail.
