The windlass works very well. The picture is very poor and enhances the bronze corrosion, it really looks much better. However this is quite heavy and shipping would have to be by freight I think. It could be quite expensive.

Very nice windlass.

I have the powered cousin, the SL Seawolf 500. The gypsy on mine will work with 5/16" G4 and 3/8" BBB chain since both types have the same link length. I'm guessing this one will be the same.

Regarding shipping, last time I checked rates for shipping a heavy item it was $200-$250 if I recall.

SL spares in the UK can still supply a lot of parts for the older SL units. Also I've found that the bearings are standard and easily available from any bearing supply house and even a lot of auto part stores.

Guess it looks worse than I thought. Still working great though! $200US!! Great for a Plastic Classic or wooden 36-45ft.

This is still a great windlass with many years of life in it but I just can't store it anymore anymore. Free [emoji44] to anyone willing to pick it up in Maine (or NH if before April 25th).
