Trimaran Crowther 40, Farrier, Corsair etc

Wanted. 36’ or larger Crowther or similar design 40’ ex race. Corsair or Farrier 31’ or over: will consider smaller for right price but no sprint models or major projects... In need of sails, rigging due etc is fine. Must be in Australia and during Covid preferably NSW unless able to deliver.

I think you might want to post this under "Boats Classifieds".

This section of the classified is a "no boats" zone.

Re: Trimaran Crowther 40, Farrier, Corsair etc

My online navigational skills aren’t all that great, add I’ve never used a forum before: this is my second try, the first went somewhere into cyber oblivion but as far as I could tell it and this went to “Boat Classifieds” if this is it then I’ve no clue as all looked good until I posted it: no matter, I’ll try and figure how to delete it... maybe easier on my grey matter if a moderator does. Cheers.

Similar issues plagued my early attempts at posting. Its part of the learning curve. Stick with it and you will figure it out.

Re: Trimaran Crowther 40, Farrier, Corsair etc

G’day. I regularly troll all the classified sites, I missed out on a Bob Burgess 33’ as I’d never heard of him, the buyer is in QLD and unable to finalise the sale and the owner won’t budge and return the deposit... I reckon it’ll be next year before we can freely cross borders again and the boat is just sitting there: it looks the same as a later Crowther Buccaneer and also a Grainger (Aeolus) Unfortunately the ones on there aren’t of interest.. would love to buy Ave Gitana (Currently in NZ) but her sister sold here for under $100k (prior to my searching) She was loaded with all the new hi tech green gear to live aboard which makes $230k NZD difficult to justify... I’ve been tempted to buy something for next summer but can’t afford two boats and surely as soon as I did the perfect boat would become available: hard when you have an image in your mind of something that doesn’t appear very often. Good luck to you too. Cheers.

Re: Trimaran Crowther 40, Farrier, Corsair etc

Piebuss. Yes, I wish, she’s at the top of my list (another Kurt Hughes design on Tradeaboat over there is close) I need to sell my Corvette and Kombi for that one plus most of the cash I have: she’s a Formula 40 with wider than usual centre hull and also extended: her sister boat sold here for less than half what they’re asking prior to my looking, not sure I can justify the price, there a few F40’s around with skinny hulls for around $30k but I need to liveaboard for a few months at a time.. it’s a bugger, I had an F9 Farrier lined up for $70k but after two years on the market he decided not to sell. Tri’s are a strange animal, take the Crowther Buccaneer for example, the 33’er is a basic cheap looking boat yet the 37’er is nice and almost identical to a number of others... and prices vary so much.
