This engine was made in 1997, but never installed until 2014. When I purchased it, it was still in factory packing crates. I put 500 hours on it, but it suffered damage when the raw-water pump seals failed and allowed saltwater to accumulate in the oil sump. The engine seized up during a period of inactivity, and I removed it from the boat in July. It has been sitting (inside) ever since. In many ways, it is like new. I don't have the time or patience to fix it or part it out, and I want it gone.



It is free of charge. I have removed the Balmar alternator, but will include a factory alternator, a set of injectors, and some misc spares that I picked up here and there. With some patience and new bearings/gaskets, it could (probably) be a running engine again. If not, it is worth something to anyone who wants to part it out.


I don't want to ship it. Plan to pick it up in Hernando Beach, FL, an hour north of Tampa on the Gulf Coast. Bring friends. I can help with a cherry picker, but you're on your own when it comes to loading it up.

I like to pick up this engine to fix and use it but want to make sure this is the right application for my boat and this is within my capability.
