For Sale: Volvo Penta 2003T For Sale

I have a functional Volvo Penta 2003T diesel engine that was recently removed from a client's sailboat. It's in storage at the moment. The engine runs strong but suffers from at least these issues that we've identified:

-Overheating, heat exchanger likely requires replacement
-Hard to start, about 15-20 seconds of cranking when cold

This could be a good engine for someone to rebuild, or to use for parts for their existing Volvo.

Comes with mounts, roughly 25ft wiring harness, control panel, and overflow tank. Transmission is not included.

Engine is located in Ballard, Seattle, WA. Sold as-is, no guarantees. Price assumes that you pick it up. Any delivery/shipping is to be coordinated and paid for by the buyer.

Hi there, curious as to what you are replacing the 2003T with. We also have a 2003T that needs to come out and we are looking at Volvo D2-50, as D2-40 no longer available. There are a couple of conversions going on in NZ retaining the 2003T engine bed. Cheers

Hello,
I am in need of a top (with injectors, cups) of a Volvo Penta marine diesel 2002 as mine has a problem with pitting and apparently leaking beneath the cylinder cups. I'm wondering if the top of your engine would work with the lower part of my engine. Thanks in advance. My sailboat is a Beneteau First 29. Linda

The 2003 is a three-cylinder engine, the 2002 is a two-cylinder, so unfortunately, no, the head won’t fit.
