You get what you pay for. Yes, These brands are what Sailrite is based on and they are about half the price. But...
They don't work just as well.
The Sailrite machines have about fifty improvements that are patented.
Try getting customer service on the others if you have a problem.
Resale value. The Sailrite machines hold their value. They sell for almost their original price if you can find one.
If you do your own canvas work you will recoup the purchase price quickly but as someone else pointed out there is a learning curve to sewing. There are plenty of Youtube videos. You can take a class at a sewing center. There are books. Walk around a marina and critique canvas on other boats.

If you are breaking thread, try lubricating the thread with silicone oil. I use a common wood clothespin holding a scrap of paper or cloth towel saturated with oil lightly clamped along the thread pathway on top of the machine. That, along with proper thread tension will greatly reduce thread breakage.

Almost all problems seem to be when the machines are threaded wrong.

but, i sew several projects and know who buy cheap often buy a second time.

the cheap copy I can buy here in germany, but still looking for the newest model of sail rite.
If I do not get one, maybe I will take a reliable....
But now hope that someone will sale the sailrite

Just picked up a LSZ-1 at a great price that some one was not using here at our present Marina ..has all the bells and whistles...just a little maintainence and it’s working great..but have to say they are heavy enough to use as a mooring anchor😂
