WTB self steering wind vane

I am looking for a self steering gear capable of steering a 45 foot, 25 ton cutter rigged sloop. Needs to be in good working condition. My budget is $1500, could perhaps be stretched to $2k for something in excellent condition with all neccessary components for installation.

will consider both auxillary rudder and servo pendulum types.

my top picks are: Windpilot pacific, Windpilot pacific plus, monitor, hydrovane, fleming. preferably something that still has spare parts available.

Re: WTB self steering wind vane

I just listed my Aries no 5 lift up wind vane in the classifieds. It would certainly work on your boat.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Jon

Thanks Lazystar but unfortunately you're on the opposite side of the country and i think shipping would make the vane too expensive for me. I also have an issue with getting parts for aries - have tried several times before without success.

Hello,

I have a say's rig. IT works really well especially with hydraulic steering systems. Let me know if you are interested. Parts are easily available too. $900.
