Southern Lake Michigan Harbor Report

O.K., all you liveaboard Lake Michigan sailors take notice: according to a recent boring by our harbormaster to determine the depth of the ice in the harbor, 10" of solid ice still remains. That means you will probably be stuck in the ice for at least another 2-3 weeks if the weather gradually warms, perhaps more. I really don't understand why more cruisers don't live aboard in Lake Michigan year 'round. Oh, well. Spring is on the way.
Ernest Shackleton Antarctica expedition 1914 - YouTube Sure looks like some of those liveaboards I've heard about. Never seen "em though. Good luck and good sailing. Enjoy the video.

Last year I was back aboard on March 3 rd. after a few days of getting the boat ready I was out on the river. This year I'am still in Kansas waiting for the snow to melt & hoping that what we are supposed to get tomorrow doesn't accumulate. Winter Sucks
