Advice needed: marina southern caribbean

Hi all,
I am looking for a cheap and safe berth / marina in the caribbean to keep our 44 ft catamaran next year. Due to insurance restrictions I am looking for a base below 13 degrees (bottom half of Bequia).
Does anyone have any recommendations or advice?
Thanks!

SE Carib only?

No hurricanes here in Panama in the SW Carib.

Yes we will end up there at some point I hope but for the first year want to do eastern Caribbean islands.
We are arriving from Cape Town so looking for shorter crossing also.

Have you considered Bocas Del Toro?

I don't have personal experience but reading experiences and recommendations of others there are a number from Grenada through Trinidad.

Peake in Trinidad has good comments from Windtraveler:

Also, there are any number of marinas on the south coast of Grenada that have favorable comments as well. Zero to Cruising is using Grenada Marine.

Good Luck.

Re: Advice needed: marina southern caribbean

We spend hurricane season in the ABC's...Great diving, good marinas and below 13N.

There are 30+ cruising boats on the $10/day moorings in Bonaire at the moment.

Marina in Bonaire is a very good one as is the one in Aruba.

Harbour Village Luxury Hotel Bonaire

Renaissance Marina Aruba

They are no more expensive than the rest of the Caribbean but not cheap.

Just make sure that the marina has the equipment and manpower to put out a fire and to haul out boats in an emergency.
