Atkins ingrid

I'm wondering if anyone out there have or want to own an Atkins ingrid ketch?
I'm talking about a wooden traditional built .
It seems like the only way to get the boat you want is to build it yourself. Anyone looking for an Atkins ingrid?

Unclear what you are asking. Are you selling, buying, building or ???. If building, might see if the molds for the Blue Water Ingrid are still around in Port Townsend or the PNW. That would save you a lot of time in building the hull.

The Ingrid by Bluewater Yachts was fiber-glass. I owned one. As far as building...what for? You can get a turnkey Ingrid 38 for well under $50K., some I've seen as low as $25K.

Re: Atkins ingrid

That's not what I was talking about. I said traditional built, I'm looking for anyone wanting a traditional built ingrid. I may be the only guy that hates fiberglass, I don't know.

Re: Atkins ingrid

Are you interested in purchasing one, building one? What is the purpose of your post?

There are many fine Atkins designs that were built in wood--and available for purchase--besides the Ingrid. Are you looking for an Ingrid or are you looking for an Atkins designed wood boat? I've seen more fiberglass (and ferro!) Ingrids than wood ones. Seems like you're less likely to find a wood Ingrid than other Atkins designs. So--why do you ask?

PS If you're selling one, just post what you've got and what you want for it in the forum for buy/sell/trade etc. If you're soliciting as a boatbuilder, suggest you read the info on the CF about vendors and figure out where you need to post that as well.

I'm looking for anyone interested in a wooden Atkins ingrid. I'm starting to gather materials to build mine. If there are anyone out there that would want to buy one then it's easy to build two at the same time.

Again...why build one? Here is one on Yachtworld for the price of just the standing rigging...

If that's a carvel planked boat, it likely needs refastening or replanking, reframing, reflooring...all the things one does when one builds a boat anyway.

It's not all about the money you know.

I wouldn't be keen to build an Ingrid though. If taking the time to build a wood boat, I'd go for a more original design--something special that was not copied in fiberglass and ferro. Or, even do as we did, find a pre-WWII classic wood boat and rebuild it (that really means pretty much building a new boat) and you'll have something really special.

Good luck to the OP.
