HELP! Selling Moto cruiser boat in France.

We have a 42 ft. Moto cruiser moored in France. We bought it in 2013 for about $50000 Canadian dollars. We are in Canada. Due to unforeseen circumstances, not covid related, we are unable to travel. We potentially sold the boat in 2019 and we sent transfer papers to the broker. Now they are saying the sale didn't go thru. Now we do not know, in whose name, the boat is registered and the people selling our boat do not seem to know either and they are not returning our emails. I know we are bloody stupid but not knowing the regulations nor can we speak French we went along with this sale. The Marina, where broker is located, now wants back moorage paid and $ for a battery put in the boat without our permission. . The new buyer was paying the moorage. If moorage is not paid they will dry dock it but we do not know if it is even in our name. The whole situation is a cluster#%$w. How can we find out where the boat is registered? The new supposed owner was trying to register it in France. It was registered in Netherlands. Anyone want to buy a very cheap boat.

Re: HELP! Selling Moto cruiser boat in France.

If the sale didn't go through, why are you not still the registered owners? It was registered in the Netherlands? Then the Dutch registry office should know who the registered owner is. Ask them. Use Google translate to send them a message. Why is the broker unable to clarify this for you? Why hasn't he sent the paperwork back to you or destroyed it if the deal didn't go through (two years ago)? If the buyer was paying the moorage, why is the marina coming after you for it? When and why did you stop paying mooring fees? Or was the new owner supposed to pay, and didn't, since he didn't buy the boat? This is from 2019? It is now 2021. What have you been doing for two years? If you don't own the boat, how can you suggest to sell it cheaply to anyone? And please clarify what is a Moto cruiser.
