Where are you located? With a Cal odds are US west coast.

Re: Long Time Lurker With Questions

We are filming a YouTube collaboration with a 100K subscriber, 10M view channel in October...Near the east coast. It took some doing to find an appropriate "extra" camera person to help with the filming, for what I considered to be a reasonable price. I would imagine that if you are able to keep your overhead low, and do good work at an acceptable price point, you will stay plenty busy. It may not be an option for you, but don't discount the idea of day working a few local labor jobs. Sweat pays pretty good these days. Good luck with everything!

Nice guess. I’m in Washington state. Couple hours outside of Seattle.

Oh nice. I think the quality of my work is good and I customize every project price point to fit the needs of the client as well as myself. I just don’t like to market myself which is crucial so I’ll just have to get used to it. And I’m always down for some manual labor. I’d take that over a desk job anyday. Thanks for the input!

I’m a Seattle boy myself. I have hated living in CA for the last 11yr.

I have meet several live aboards around popular cruising areas who support themselves by making canvas (sunbrella) covers and doing cover/sail repair. Always in demand and repairs at remote cruising destinations can otherwise be hard to come by. Seemed to work for them and all you really need is one of those sturdy sewing machines (Sailrite or whatever), a table, and some fabric.

start from scratch:
work in a boat yard (marina) while fixing your dream boat.... learn the ins and outs of boat maintenance..... you'll be asked for advice ($) and soon after for surveys ($$)

You have to have great looking girls on the boat for a Youtube channel to fly.

Oh nice. California seems nice just because the sailing options are pretty vast. I’m on a lake so I can’t pick up and go anywhere.

That’s a good idea too. I have some sewing experience and a machine but probably not the kind for sails.

I would love that and maybe eventually I can do it. My location makes it difficult now. I’d have to have a pretty long commute.

Not that we don't believe you, but we're going to need some proof of that.
