The 3rd Happiest day of a man's life?

We all know this but....

The 1rst happiest day is when you buy a boat.

The 2nd happiest day is when you sell your boat.

But......did you know what the 3rd happiest day of a man's life is?

When he buys another boat!!!!!

I went 2 whole weeks without owning a boat and just bought another boat- a West Wight Potter 15, a trailer sailor which has a preliminary name of of "Beatrix". We've yet to go through the formal naming ceremony (I'm taking no chances).

I feel like I've died and gone to Heaven. Time is a valuable commodity and having a big boat (30 footer) consumed too much time. The most expensive "part" of keeping this new one is the insurance- $152 a year!

Small boat- big smile

Big boat- no smile

In life there are 3 things- time, money and a boat. But, you can only have one of them.

Fair winds

Great name for a Potter. Have fun and keep smiling.

Good post, PDA1.

You have a big boat, it just sits at the dock.

You have a small boat, you go out all the thime.

I just bought a 35 and we go out all the time. It is a lot of work though.

first happiest day: buying a boat.
second happiest day: divorcing your wife
third happiest day: marrying your wife
saddest day: selling a beloved boat.

Just my personal experience. IMHO. YMMV.

I thought the third happiest days was when you got divorced and the judge makes the ex-wife keep the boat! (married 20+ years here which means I'm smart enough not to show this to the wifey!)

Seriously, those Potters are wonderful, well designed little boats! Congratulations and I think that Beatrix is the perfect name for one.
