USCG Documentation Turnaround - 9 Days Total

I guess the CG took care of the "backlog" in paperwork that I was hearing about. Shipped off paperwork on Monday - bill of sale and notarized release of documentation - and received the new Documentation yesterday, 12/19. Just a little FYI. Merry Christmas to me!

Re: USCG Documentation Turnaround - 9 Days Total

I renewed my recreational documentation online paying online on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Had the new document in my mailbox on Monday.

That's a fairly quick turnaround for a GOV service.

Waited 7 months. Called Documention agent finally and said we're leaving for the Bahamas. Coast Guard expedited and received in 48 hours.

Evidently if you are leaving the country they will "expedite".

Since early November on new boat. They don't call; they don't write, but they did cash my check.

What does anyone know about the registering process of a boat being purchased outside the USA?

Re: USCG Documentation Turnaround - 9 Days Total

Process is pretty simple for out of country sale. Just have a lawyer or notary from the country where the sale is happening notarize the bill of sale and the documentation release. That's it.
