Until people realise that the oil is not being made anymore and more and more people are competing for it, that a heavy dependence on the black stuff is going to send you broke. Oz is living on borrowed time for the same reason, even if we are exporting lots of coal and iron ore.

The Aus $ is now around 94c US, (not so long ago it was closer to 60c) and likely to rise further - our interest rates ares still going up, while the US rate is going down. So I've been busily scanning American E-bay sellers for bargains, and finding quite a few.
