Annapolis to Newfoundland Delivery

My wife and I are in the process of buying (using Canadian dollars -ouch!!) a 38' sailboat in Annapolis and after the hurt, we plan to sail it to St. John's, Newfoundland. Has anyone planned a route and sailed to Nova Scotia or Newfoundland? We are experienced sailors but we will be skirting the coastline to Maine and NS.
Besides paper and NOAA electronic charts, what guidebooks would you recommend? What stops (anchorages/marinas would you recommend along the way using 200 to 250 Miles per leg?
Butterflies already!!

By now, you've conquered those butterflies and made this passage. How was it? My husband and I hopped up the East Coast from Long Island to Lunenberg, Nova Scotia. The only real negative was the prevalence of lobster pots, especially off of Maine. I'd love to hear about your experiences!

My wife and I are in Gloucester working our way up to Nova Scotia. We are trying to figure outwhere to cross to Nova Scotia from and if we should check in in Yarmouth or Shelbourne. What did you do?

Made delivery of 36' Endeavor cat from Norfolk to St. John's. Only issues were poor (lite and unlite) navigation aids in N.S. Just check Admiral Charts for iceberg lines in various months.
