Boating across Ochocobee

We are boating across from Stuart to Captiva. 60 foot Princess. I have reviewed the web - any words of wisdom before this rookie Captian makes his moves?!

I guess your aware of one of the bridges is around 48 ft and on the western end of the Lake, depending on rainfall, may only have a depth of 5-6 ft for the route across the Lake and 3-4 ft for the Rim route..

Go slow and when you get to the bridge at LaBelle if you blow it to He## I will provide the Dynamite and chip in on your fuel bill.

Get out your biggest fenders, the lift at St Luce can be pretty turbulent, rest pretty easy. No hard cleating on the down locks.

Re: Boating across Ochocobee

I don't know what to say about this video except it's more or less the generic view of what every sailor thinks of when they think of a powerboater.

Spoiler alert: they go outside the channel halfway across the lake and clip a rock. NOTE: Do not cut corners in Lake Okeechobee
