Gulf Stream map

I've been searching for an online map of the Atlantic current with little success. Does anyone know of a good source to view the gulf stream 'live'? I've tried NOAA but can't seem to find a detailed map. Thank you for any assistance.

Re: Gulf Stream map

I'm unfamiliar with any NOAA link for this information. But, ocean currents, including the Gulf Stream, are available in the weather update in the Nobeltec Timezero Navigator software.

Wow, grasshopper....your GoogleFu skills need some work! [emoji6]

NOAA's Ocean Prediction Center cranks out most of the data on the Gulf Stream:

https://ocean.weather.gov/OceanProd.php

University of Miami does a lot of ocean currents research and has some good info online. Loads of Gulf Stream related links on their site.

https://oceancurrents.rsmas.miami.ed...-stream_2.html

Jennifer Clark is a well known Gulf Stream guru who offers related routing services and has lots of info and example charts online.

You can also down load Gulf Stream data in GRIB format from Copernicus and view using a GRIB viewer, like in the attached image of SailGRIB WR (an Android app).

I see you are from Buffalo, I recently lost a good friend from there who also owned the Spirit of Buffalo. RIP Rick...

Rick was a great guy and he did a lot for the City of Buffalo. I knew him as a cruiser in Western Carib.

Re: Gulf Stream map

Passageweather.com. Click on the chart you want to view, then click on "Currents" tab above the map. What's nice is it gives a dynamic forward forecast, though unsure how accurate it is.

BTW - I like Passageweather.com a lot for mid/macro planning. Pretty close to the old-school NOAA WxFax/Synoptic charts, which are still high on my list for route planning. It's a free service, though they to ask for a donation from time to time.
