Knysna SA to Perth

Hi all, I am a quiet lurker of a few years now. I made a serious mistake a couple of years ago by moving to South Africa and buying a house here.
Now I wish to return to Oz but could have problems with getting my money back from SA.
The alternative is to buy a yacht (catamaran) and sail home. The fastest and most direct route is from Knysna to Perth, which will see me in much of the southern ocean.
Anyone done this before?
Timing is important and it could take a few months to sell the house...assuming 3-4 months from now, buy the boat in Durban and set off.
Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

This is a serious passage, possibly more dangerous than any other you could think of. Lives have been lost on this passage.

Many ocean racers have lost their vessels on this route, and when we were in Richard's Bay an experienced couple set out on this route and were never heard from again.

Unless you are an experienced sailor I don't recommend you try this, there must be better ways to repatriate your money.
