Long Beach to San Fran

Realizing, of course the variables, any idea what a reasonable amount of time would be to sail from Long Beach to San Fran? It's getting time to move the boat, and trying to plan the trip. I understand the variability of this question, but was hoping to encourage some practical advise...

Re: Long Beach to San Fran

It all depends on the wind, sailing up the west coast of cali can be FUN and it can be a total PITA !! Ive done in 28hrs, Once! from Ventura to SF but that was a real different sail for the area ! if your gonna port hop its not to bad 4 to 5 days should do it in most boats but not knowing the boat and equipment, its really hard to even guess! but somewhere between 5 and 15 days ! LOL sorry but thats all I can think of !

Re: Long Beach to San Fran

You know your boat, here is the mileage. It is about 510 miles if you are going non stop. If you are going to hop its 70miles to Avalon, 80 to Smugglers on Santa Cruz. 150 to Morro Bay, 125 to Monterey then 100 to the bridge. You can short Morro Bay by 25 by stopping in Port San Luis and short the bridge by 20 stopping in Santa Cruz. Have Fun!
