Year round sailing

Is there an area in the world that has low chances of cyclones, hurricanes, or tropical storms. Looking for the year round sailing spot without having to worry about distructive stormy season or extreme temperature shifts.

Re: Year round sailing

Check out the Baltic Sea. It just gets miserable in winter, but you'll be safe from Hurricanes.

The Mediterranean isn't so bad either, but even there it's not much fun in winter, when the wind picks up and the water cools down.

Brazil! No hurricanes, year-round sailing in warm water and no winter. Thousands of kilometers of beautiful coastline to explore, great people, wonderful food and very cheap.

Re: Year round sailing

No hurricanes or tropical storms nor sea ice (mostly) here in British Columbia. But Winters can get pretty wet, windy and cold (though mostly above 0°C).

Definitely year-round sailing in southern BC.

That is a fascinating chart, Stu! Makes me glad to be in the southern hemisphere!
