Anyone Living in San Leandro Marina?

Anyone living in San Leandro marina? We're fairly sure long lost uncle is there and his elderly mother wants to talk to him one last time. No one wants to hassle him, we just want to drop off a letter or have someone else drop one off. Any ideas? Suggestions?

I haven't. I spent last night educating myself about living aboard and it seemed to me that I could potentially mess up his liveaboard status (although various bits of information seem to indicate that he has been there for quite a while)

You seem to think your uncle is living aboard illegaly (what we call "sneak-aboards"). Not sure what you are basing that assumption on, but if he is paying slip fees, you could contact the harbor office, never mentioning his status, and ask if they could leave a message on his boat. Maybe he actually is living aboard legally in which case I'm sure the harbor staff would contact him for you.

If you are referring to the San Leandro City Marina I found the following.

San Leandro Marina Rules

4. Use of Vessel as a Residence
No vessel moored within the marina shall be used as a place of residence unless liveaboard status is granted by the City. For the purpose of this regulation, any vessel used as an overnight accommodation in excess of two nights in any seven-day period shall be considered a residence.

Sometimes the rules on paper are quite different than reality. Who knows maybe the city granted the live aboard status? FB. is right you are not obligated to mention your uncle's status just if he is there............i2f
