I love bannanas.
Don't know if we start voyages on a Friday - have never considered it.

experience only means that you screw-up less often.
The answer to that is emblazoned all over the media - someone who left Cape Town on Friday May 21....

I am not superstitious and I was going to name my boat JOBI but her name is really appealing and I will keep it.

We used the John Vigor ceremony when we renamed one of our boats. I am not superstitious but shortly after changing the name we had the top plastic bushing break on the head sail roller furler, and the furler tube chewed into the forestay. Had to haul the boat and replace the stay and section of the furling tube. Almost couldnt get the head sail down off the tube. I don't remember any other "back luck" incidents like that. Probably just a coincidence.

Re: Bad Luck to Rename a Boat ?

Seriously? Buy new vests, then after the renaming party, have more fun putting the new name on new vests.

Hi Ben, flying out on either the first flight on the 30th Oct or on the 2nd Nov, haven't decided yet. Will get to hervey bay where my boat is sometime around the middle to late Nov,.. I'm yet to work out how I'm going to get it back home to Cairns.
