Is this the low pressure system passing over Florida?

I'm sure it is the same large low that is also impacting us here in North Florida where I'm waiting for it to pass before cruising north. Cabin fever? Maybe so! I'm sitting here trying to calculate the density of drops on the hatch, number per square foot, before they run together. Fortunately, with Capngeo's posted photo, I can make an accurate guess. Cabin fever? ......but then I'm assuming that the drop density is the same here as in South Florida. Cabin fever? ......and I'm looking at a horizontal hatch while Capngeo's photo is a vertical portlight. Cabin fever?

Re: CABIN FEVER!

Barny....
We rarely get stuck with an all-dayer, most blow through and are done in a few hours. That said, the hurricane season can make it dump for several days depending on the movement of the storm. All-in-all, I'd give Florida about 340 days a year that you can have an outdoor activity and NOT get rained out... delayed perhaps, but that is normal here.
@CF... so how much extra does my boat weigh?

Re: CABIN FEVER!

OK then Florida back on our potentials list!

If we get as far as Bahamas then I could elect Fl rather than that long slog sail to the EU shores.

Re: CABIN FEVER!

Same system heading up here calling for rain until Tuesday. Personally I like a little rain now and then. It gives the deck a good washdown also I can let it give some clothes and towels a fresh water rinse. Not to mention it helps refill the washdown bucket. Good days for reading and napping below while listening to the rain on the cabin top too. What can I say I'm a man for all weather.

Re: CABIN FEVER!

And today that same system is getting us here in Morehead City/Beaufort, NC. Ah well, excellent weather for baking bread and pre-writing a bunch of blog articles ...

Re: CABIN FEVER!

I too like when it rains. Not really all that much if we are anchored - but only due to limitations of our boat (no doghouse here ;-(. Otherwise, I will read another book and have another coffee ...

Not to mention that I love to sleep on such days - the rain drips drops and I do not get up before midday.

All the rainy blessings of being a cruising bum ;-)

Re: CABIN FEVER!

I have observed after many years at sea that getting involved with a project is what controls cabin fever.
Sewing machines are a great entertainment set. Make something, if it does not turn out cut it up and start over.
