Most marinas have jumped on the band wagon and are charging from $300-500 to live aboard here in San Diego in addition to slip fee. Here at Pier 32 Marina I pay $749+electricity for a 36' slip.

Sydney Australia

We checked out two marinas, one in the main harbour right next to the main drag so it has a LOT of ferry wash etc - $9500 per annum for a 40 footer incl power and water only.

The marina we settled on is $800pm for a 28 footer incl power water pump out and showers also has coin laundry onsite.

It was VERY hard to find liveaboard marinas in Sydney. It seems there is more of an acceptance of liveaboards in the far north of this country.

We have a 41' Choate sailboat at Shelter Island in San Diego. Slip fees are $800 a mo, liveaboard fees for both of us is $350 a month, and the view...priceless!!! Yes, pricey, but we opted for closeness to the ocean, and amenities like ac, showers, laundry, etc.

merely arriving in many locales is a trouble you dont want to get into---san diego , for example, has over 3 yr waiting lists for MOORING BALLS and nearly 10 yr wait in many marinas---need to arrrange in advance for each
there is an additional fee for living aboard--dependent on marina chosen....i donot know where you are located--is a goood is dea to pre-arrange for any marina considered.....there are , in many marinas, only a specified number of living aboard slips allowed and granted....gooood luck....

That's what's so scary about Nanaimo BC setting the precedent of charging for anchoring.
Stop the sickness from spreading. Boycott Nanaimo, and any where else which charges for anchoring..

Hampton, 6.75 per ft.
No LA fee and plus utilities = $360 +/- monthly.

Not bad since this area is very nice.

Lantana, Florida... Loggerhead Club and Marina is 14.50 ft + elec and no LA fee. The amenities are great... wifi, pool, hot tub, garage parking, gym with showers and sauna, meeting room. And, Loggerhead is a chain. They have a program where, so long are you are registered at a Loggerhead, you can visit any of them for 7 days... free of charge. A nice bonus if you are in South Florida, as they have quite a few here.
