A tank / bow thruster is located under the bed so the original bed can’t be totally removed. Each of the 4 spots could easily sleep a 6+ footer. From what I saw it’s fairly easy to reconfigure.

But making do on well under 40' is a different story

They each could sleep 6-foot adults. But you are right : that was on a 65-foot sailboat.

Re: Dividing V-berth

I see no problem with dividing. Make a canvas/sunbrella divider with eye loops. Fasten it overhead and bottom of berth with cord. You will need a divided cushion in the berth, many have that. Does yours? Various fittings available for the overhead and V berth deck. Easily released to tuck the cavas under the cushions.

I feel bad for you! You came to this forum for some experienced boaters advice on maintenance items, and instead were told how to live your life. I too was wondering how hard it is to convert my forward berth from a curtain to a door. It was actually an option on my boat and I am looking to see who has done it and what the best materials are and where to source them...anyone?
