Does Las Olas Marina Allow Liveaboards?

The Las Olas Docks facility is conveniently located on the Intracoastal Waterway and only steps from our breathtaking and newly revitalized beach.

Completely renovated in 1998, the facility features a 52 slip marina designed primarily for large vessels and offers a full array of amenities, including:

Comfort station with rest rooms, showers, laundromat and small meeting facility
Water, electric, telephone jacks
Cable TV/HBO
Public telephones
Vacuum sewage pumpout facilities at each slip
Convenient dockside parking
Gated security

In addition, the complex features two smaller docks, which offer daily boat dockage, and a temporary anchorage area, both of which offer convenient access to Fort Lauderdale Beach. For this facility, remember beach, sun and fun.

they don't mention rates or liveaboard availability, but they offer amenities that would imply livingaboard.

this marina is perfect as I would be minutes from work. hell, i could walk there if i needed. Does anyone know if they allow liveaboards?

this article on boatus has a report and he loves the marina

Las Olas Marina is a nice marina, and I don't know whether they allow liveaboards or not, but it is very expensive.

Why don't you just call them and ask?

well, I know that sometimes if you flat ask "do you allow liveaboards?" they say no, but i have heard that some marinas will turn their heads. how do you ask without "asking"

I just spent 3 weeks there -- yes, they do allow liveaboards. After 5/1, the rate is .90/ft, a bargain in Ft. Lah-de-dah. During prime time, the rate was $2.40/ft (ouch). However, they are very sound docks (concrete, fixed) with very good fender strips. The shore power is reliable and each slip has a pump out. They even do recycling!

The dockmaster, Levend, is excellent, as is Luis, and they go out of their way to help.

If you have to be there, I highly recommend them. They also have mooring buoys, which I think were $15/day.

Yes, there is nice deep water until you get into the innermost slips. Even there you will see 5 feet at low tide. Call them and let them know your requirements.
