Faux Stained Glass Portlights?

I have started replacing my plastic portlights with bronze ones. The plastic ones were tinted to give some sort of privacy, but not much. I really do not like the look of curtians that I have seen on some other boats, So....
I am thinking that a stained-glass look would be nice. In the past I have made faux stained glass images on windows at my land home in Florida. They really look just like stained glass. Not stickers, real glass paint and faux lead paint. I use a stain-glass pattern, temporally placed on the other side of glass, and use the faux lead paint to outline, then paint in with the glass paint. Gives good privacy, and i could always open portlight to see outside.

What do you guys think of this idea?

I have included a pic of my home door window, as an example of what it looks like.Click image for larger version

If you like it go for it. My only question is whether the paints you would use would stand up to the environmental conditions on a boat.

I would suggest window film that can be found at Home Depot or Lowes. I have good results with it in the past.
