Plus one of the marina managers said that they are planning on lowering the bridge height further limiting their options.
TX 146 Bridge from Seabrook to Kemah is 73 feet clearance. no wires to worry about. lots of large boats on Clear Lake

Re: Finally got my boat.

you might want to consider lake conroe or lake livingston as an alternative.

Re: Finally got my boat.

Congratulations! Your problem may end up being, finding a marina allowing 27' and live aboard. Best of luck. Let us know how you make out and where.

Re: Finally got my boat.

I have no idea which marinas you called, but we are at Watergate and there are at least 5 boats that are 30' or shorter within spitting distance from us. Now, if it is because they don't offer a slip at a price that you are willing to pay, then that is another matter all together.

Congratulations! Your little boat looks great! I'm years away, I think, but look forward to having to find a slip for my boat. Enjoy!

Re: Finally got my boat.

There was an old saying a few years ago that " Little boats go the furthest " and it probably is true.
The happiest man I ever met was a Ed Bowden who came into Cairns Qld in 1973 in his 25ft Vertue ( no engine ). He wanted to see what a big city looked like and I seem to remember that Cairns was about 30,000 then. Cairns still had an edge in those days, not really a tourist town and it had some great old time pubs downtown with fist fights every night called The Barbary Coast. He had a 3 part dinghy that was 12ft. He was planning to be the longest ever singlehanded passage around the world and was going to try for 24 years.

Re: Finally got my boat.

Congrats...

Keep it simple, good scoops here by locals in the know.

" Go where they will love, ya, lad . "

Agree with keeping your vessel squared away, clean, and bristol . I think you will take great pride in your new live aboard home. You continuous labor will be a labor of love and will feel good.

Plus, with some of the suggested live aboard marinas, you will be meeting new people, acquiring new friends, and life is gonna be great !

Re: Finally got my boat.

I love small boats. She's a very nice looking boat. Can you please let us know how she is set up for propulsion. She is also small enough for trailering. If you are interested in portability at a later time I think you will be happy with her size on a trailer.

Please take a picture of your engine set up and posted up. You r killing us with suspense

Re: Finally got my boat.

It's just a 10HP Yanmar diesel thumper... Nothing fancy, but recently rebuilt and runs like a watch.

It was painted white since this picture was taken, and double clamps added.
