Froli bed system or equivalent - worth it?

We are having mold issues under the mattresses (foam, on wood).

I am considering installing a Froli system or equivalent (e.g Camco).

1- Are folks pleased with this system on a boat? Should we consider other brands or hypervent pads?
2- How can i set this up and maintain access to my 4 under-berth compartments where I store my asym and other seldom used gear?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Froli bed system or equivalent - worth it?

I started with hypervent, but making the bed and also accessing compartments beneath the mattress was a pain.
I then installed Froli.
Each "spring" was attached to the corresponding spot, including all access covers where needed.
It took some time, but was worth it.

The Froli is adjustable, and that also took a bit of time to get it exactly right, but it was SO worth it !

I fixed the issue on my boat by installing a 12V computer fan to blow cabin air under the bed base.

We added a Froli setup when we put V-berths in the forward cabin of out J/36 instead of pipe-berths. Easily fitted into the shape of the bunks and very comfortable. Minimal mold after install.

It was not the equivalent, but we solved the problem with 8 seagrass doormats. I used 3mm line to tie 4 loosely to each other, one for fort, one for starboard, and let them keep us off the plywood. I liked them, and I liked the scent of them, but Jim didn't, so we went to a closed cell foam pad on the bottom of the mattress, and that did the trick for us. The point is, the problem can be solved for less money, should you want to.
