Certainly I have no problem with resources being spent on them being rescued, but same as for me I would not expect someone else (professional or amateur) to take life threatening risks to themselves to save anyone. they are trained and equipped for the tasks they under take...

true heroes are those that take an unacceptable risk without training or proper preparedness to do something for someone else's benefit... without wanting or receiving any compensation...
