Hot summer Ac/ Aircon, inverter

New to sailing and if anyone know whats best.
Worried about the heat. Boat has air con but
it's A/C dock hook up. SO will two marine bats
with an inverter last long? Or a generator?
Maybe body will aclimate a little.
Thanks for any help!

A 16,000 btu marine A/C takes 12-15 amps at 120 V to run it. That will be about 150 amps from your DC system. Two batteries might last an hour at that rate.

So, get a generator or more fans.

batteries won't do it. probably a Honda 2000 will. costs around $1000. two can be linked together, if necessary, to provide double the power. or you can install an onboard generator for maybe $4000 or so.

or you can add some more hatches....

No, youd need a huge inverter and a huge bank youd still only get a few hours, then youd need to run a genny to recharge the batteries. Get a genny, and a smaller 5k but hatchmount. for the really nasty days, otherwise use shade, fans, cold frosty beverages!!! where do you plan on being?
