IS THERE A BOAT REVIEW SERVICE CONSUMER SITE?

Hi there. I am rather new to boating and have looked for different types of technicians---electrical, engine, etc.......but they are hard to find and then, I have no idea if they are good or such

Is there any website that puts together a consumer review site for the marine industry where boaters place reviews of things they have used, hired,....

thx

www.cruisersforum.com is a good place to start

The problem is you have to start getting specific with your questions. Have a specific part you want to know? a specific boat? a specific company? Just do a search here. If you still can't find anything, do a search here. If still nothing, wait 6 months and try again.

welcome to the forum.

Technicians are really not that hard to find, but there's no way we can help you find the right ones for your needs unless you meet us half way. Put some effort into your profile, letting us no a few details such as what continent you live on currently, or what ocean you happen to be sailing, and whether you're a sailboat or powerboat person, et cetera. Maybe even a clue as to the type of boat you're needing to have work done on?

At that point, you'll find this forum to be a somewhat raucous boating consumer site.

Nothing..... I was in the works of making such a website last year. But, lack of interest (and a bit of lazyness) prevented me from it.

I still own the domains if you're interested.

Ahhh. It has come to mind. What made you find there was a lack of interest?

I guess it was an imagined lack of interest....

But, the ability to continuously provide up-to-date information and also afford the broker advertisements and actually manage the the listings was a bit too much for me. The lack of interest was almost entirely on my part

Overall, it's a really great idea for a website. It just wasn't for me.

Ask around the marina you are at, the people will be glad to give you a the information of people they use. That is the best way to find a local, qualified, and usually less expensive person to do anything you need. The boaters who have been there for awhile will be able to tell you who is good and who to stay away from in the area. We've found a lot of good services for boats that way over the years.

I was just about to say what boating2go recommends. Peoples personal experiences with the people they have hired in the past are the best recommendations....or non-recommendations.
