Large thick cushion covers

Hello,

I am looking for some nice cushion covers to go with a yacht. I saw nautical themed ones on Aliexpress - but its hard to know the quality coming out of China.

I am wanting fairly large cushions for the saloon, something made out of really thick cotton would be nice.

Anyone care to recommend anything?

Thanks

Al

Hi, Al,

Cotton gets permanently damp, and is prone to mildew. Ultra suede is pretty good, and washable, durable, nice to look at and sit on. People used to use various velours. Leather has worked fairly well for us. Sunbrella, though plain, has held up very well in both indoor and outdoor applications.

If you or your partner is a person who sews, you can use any fabric you like, and re-do as the mood and new, more interesting fabrics come along. Sewing cushion covers is usually easy (all straight seams), and even putting in zippers isn't hard. It also saves $$, if you already have a sewing machine.

There is a sewing group on CF, who have posted pics of some of what they've done.
