What kind of agreement do you request? Give more details on the conditions of the boat sitting?

Sans Souci is only 45 feet, you might want to look for a larger boat.

What kind of agreement would you suggest? I am open to offers. She is currently getting her interior teak refinished, otherwise she is very seaworthy. She is at my house on Geiger Key. I have been the only owner.

We are not discussing buying it, no..,?? :-)))
I just want to know what sort of agreement, deal, you want to put in place for boatsitting your ketch.. Liabilities, insurance, costs etc.. Who does what and who pays what, etc....
When and for how long etc etc
You dońt say much about what you exactly want and how you see it
It's not just getting into the boat and staying there
What if there is some trouble with engine or batteries or else,
A lot of questions not answered...

I like that boat I just delivered one to Boca Chica Air Force base. Sailed like a dream.

Re: Liveaboard Couple Wanted in Key West

It is still very unclear what you want, even after a pm from you. You may want to think this through. You are either not who you say you are ( unlikely) or you are heading into dangerous waters. Be careful, it may be your best interest to think about the questions posted by Alecadi which just scratches the surface of what you need to work out before allowing someone to command your vessel. The folks sitting for your boat may not mind the informal way you are doing this but it will leave you very vulnerable.

I delivered a boat for a guy named Jim Simpson out of Kemah, Texas . He has a boat business, been around the block. My friends and I went to go pick up one of his boats in Guatemala. He said, " take your time, have fun". We did. By the time we got to a phone in Isla Mujeras he was pretty irked we had still not crossed the gulf to Texas.

Be really clear with what you expect, or the boat sitter may take off for a few months with no word, or break everything aboard, crash, or even disappear.

Agree with the above have set expectations of what you are looking for. Really why bother if you have a home on the water? Being vague will get you great resoinses!

I am not looking for a sitter, I'm looking for a skipper and mate that knows how to take care of a boat.

I am not vague, ask anything you want. I am looking for a skipper and mate without a boat. Very Simple.

Re: Liveaboard Couple Wanted in Key West

Hiya Souci! I completely understand your request; it's a straight forward request. In today's litigious society, people are suspicious of offers as yours. You need to write what your expectations will be and what will be the legal obligations of the skipper and mate. Things can and do go wrong; who'll be paying for the damage (natural causes/self inflicted)? I'd suggest to check with a lawyer and have a contract drawn, before going any further; it's a bit complicated than just hiring competent crew to lookout after your boat.

Your first post was without a doubt for a sitter, i.e. somebody to look after and take care of your boat , and living aboard, when you will be away.
Just count me out of it, too much things left in the dark for me. Too dangerous. This is a mine for troubles.
Sorry
