Re: Liveaboard in Tampa, Florida area

South of the Albert Whitted Airport and St. Pete Municipal is The Harborage Marina and that is right next to Salt Creek where I think there is a Marina and boat services (haulout and such).

I would not dock at the Vinoy or the in the anchorage there because it is not protected and any East wind tears through there.

Re: Liveaboard in Tampa, Florida area

Kelly,

I invite you to look into the Harborage Marina.

We are currently living aboard here with several others and enjoy it immensely.

Compare the marina's. Regatta Point was our second. St Pete Muni doesn't have the security like the Harborage and my wife and I have two girls with us so that was a big factor. Aside from the pool, which we enjoy almost nightly, and happy hour on different boats a night, the floating docks at the Harborage are in better condition that Regatta's and St Pete doesn't have any.

The docks here are rated to a 16' storm surge, meaning the downtown area will float away before our boats do. That is a big plus. Lastly, the staff here at the marina, both day and night watch, are fantastic. Very helpful, polite, like family.

PM if you would like more details.

Re: Liveaboard in Tampa, Florida area

Suggest you call the Harborage 727-821-6347 and talk to Shawn. Different docks have different rates, based on size and stuff. He is easy to talk to and very accommodating.
