There are actually a couple of different "Lighthouse Point" marinas in Florida. Which one are you talking about?

Last Chance V,
Lighthouse Point Marina is in Boca Raton. Very nice marina, but pricey. If you are considering something near Fort Lauderdale, you might want to look into a slip on either Hendricks Isle or Isle of Venice. not as fancy, but easier on the wallet. I live aboard on Isle of Venice and pay under 600/mo, includes electric, water, cable, and pumpout at the slip.

Florida is a big state. It might help if you said where in Florida. Chuck

Re: Liveaboard Marina in Florida ?

Okay, so you are talking about the Lighthouse Point that is south of Boca. There's another Lighthouse Point Marina on the west coast, also. I think there's also one up in the panhandle, though that might just be Lighthouse Marina (no "Point").

In any case, you will find that the Dade/Broward/Palm Beach area is, on average, the most expensive in Florida. This includes the cost of gas, groceries, and so on, as well as marinas. If you really want to be in that area then you just have to deal with the expense. If you are willing to consider elsewhere then you will find living less expensive in the panhandle, around Tampa Bay, and in the Jacksonville area.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. We don't have a prefer location, looking for a friendly and nice facility , secure . we are still thinking maybe going more south like Bahamas , what the weather like in Florida for live aboard.

I stay at Harbortown Marina in Merritt Island, near Cape Canaveral locks east central coast. Very nice, full service, pool, restaurant, Very dog friendly and protected. Prices are currently approximately $10 per foot per month include cable, water, and pump out.

Another marina to consider is Cocoa Village Marina on the Indian River / ICW. Very friendly and helpful people and the village is just across the street from the marina. Restaurants and shops (including Travis Hardware) are well within walking distance (1-4 blocks). If you don't have a car available there is bus service also in front of the marina.

You can try Boot Key Harbor in Marathon down in the keys. Well protected, clean and $275 per month.

I know you have to go west a little to get there, but, it's still an overnight sail to the Bahama's. Gulf Stream gives a big push.
