Re: Looking for Cheap Berths and Moorings

Just an opinion but a boat sitting in a Marina is sub-standard housing. When a boat is in a marina is is usually is in for work, Look for working Marinas that allow live aboards. The marinas are not as pretty as resort marinas, but much more affordable and they allow you to work on your boat. . We pay 361 a month including electricity and water when were home in the states.

Some of the most beautiful places we find are at cheap and older working marinas.

Re: Looking for Cheap Berths and Moorings

Capt,
I definitely agree on some of the older working marinas being pretty. I guess I was trying more to say, they are more affordable than some of the resort type marinas. We don't have a heated pool, restaurant, or hot tub at our marina, but we love being here. We should be pulling out 1 Feb headed to the Exumas. If you get down that way give us a shout.

Re: Looking for Cheap Berths and Moorings

Bucky205, I'm in total agreement. Often the glitz that is offered to attract the tourist dollar comes with a price that can't compete with a simple place where paradise has not been paved over.
