Thanks for this! Extremely helpful to get real world longitudinal data about the actual costs of cruising.

Thanks for sharing the very detailed breakdown of costs? Seems like you got a good deal on the cutlass bearing labor. I always thought the labor charges for something like that would be much higher.

Re: Month 68 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat

Yup...a haul out will do it every time. I was lucky that in cruising Mexico for 3 years never did a haul out, other than storing the boat and sold the vessel before I had to do a major bottom job. I'm not a drinker or entertainment hound...(ya I know, boring). I did spend money on a slip at $525@month as I recall because I thought I would splurge on something and not have to haul water. My average per month was around $900@month while the cruising season was open. Then there was off season when I hauled out for $140@month. But then you have haul out fees for storage, boat upgrades and of course Busing into Mananaland twice during the off season. Average monthly then was around $400@month. This was 2014-2016 inclusive.

As always, thank you for putting this effort together. I have used your template to begin my budget/forecasting. I’m sure others, many others have gained from your openness.

Thank you sailorboy.
