Morning sickness or sea sickness?

I mentioned going out for a sail in the gulf last week and my wife all but verbally threw the kitchen sink at me.... I managed to make out it was something having to do with some kind of motion sickness or something?

Actually she's ever so slightly irritated that she can't go diving this summer when I teach class. Said she'd teach the free diving portion instead... This should be interesting since she can make 30' now and I suspect that she will try and make 45' as a personal goal this summer.

We had a long talk about what this would mean to our goal of going to living aboard. We both agreed that in some ways this makes it more important than ever because we want to SPEND TIME with our children. The idea of working an 8 to 5 job and having my kid (or kids) in daycare and coming home and seeing them in the evening and on the weekend just doesn't fit with the life style I want. My father was in college when I grew up and he had the wonderful luxury of spending time with me as I got bigger. The other thing we realized is how much better our life on a sailboat will be with a child to remind us of how beautiful, interesting, terrifying, majestic, calming and loving the ocean and the sailing life can be.

Just beginning to understand the changes in our life...... This is both cool and scary at the same time. Kind of like the 2 seconds of freefall after you leave the high dive and before you hit the water!

According to my lovely wife, sailing while pregnent will bring new meaning to motion sickness. Might be a good time to refit the boat Cool and scary is the appropriate response, but I like your take on the whole thing. I was able to arrange to spend lots of time with both of my sons when they were young. My oldest is 20, and I can see much of the time that I spent with him in who he is today. Even if he is not ready to acknowlege it.
And to add to your analogy, it is like that freefall but with the first chute you packed yourself.
