I haven't looked into retirement visas, but Albania has some of the most favorable long stay visas in Europe, and they are proceeding toward EU integration. Next time I'm in Greece, if ever, I'm leaving immediately for Albania.

We work during 4 winter months to recharge the boat kitty ( Mainly marina fees and some maintenance )

We eat out from time to time( again nothing fancy ) , but in reality out of that money , you really only have to feed yourself and buy the odd t-shirt etc

We do make more from time to time but we save that.

It’s careful living but it’s not frugal. I’m not sure what “ living like a king means “ but we’re happy.
Are you including all vessel expenses in that total?

I remember from years ago you were quite the expert on Schengen. But I also always took it that you were a UK citizen. If that is the case, how are you going to deal with this long term in Greece? I've thought about buying a villa in Greece and possibly Portugal and use the Golden Visa.

Not a U.K. citizen. So safely inside EU net.

But currently the EU has given U.K. citizens till end of 2021 to achieve settled status and if you have a track record of being present in Greece for some time , you will be supplied with a 5 or 10 year residence visa ( usual things like financial status , medical insurance etc )

After 2021 things will get more difficult for U.K. citizens to achieve residency status.

Is there an equivalent golden visa in Greece. ?? ( ah yes there is €250,000 in property. )

Greece is also running a scheme for high income pensioners , 9 % income tax
