Preparing to live aboard.

Hello everyone, I join this forum so I can share with someone with the same passion our plan and ask many questions .

We are planning to move to live aboard on a sailboat of 11-12 meters with our dog somewhere in North Europe, but it won't happen before a couple of years. At the moment I am attending RYA courses in Poland to improve the maneuvers and trying to gather more info possible about everything you need to know before buy a sailboat. We are both passionate about sailing, but especially I love the idea of being able to travel with my "home" all around the world.

We are a little budget constrained about the boat, but I hope we will be able to find a good deal. At the moment we are planning to spend around 30K euro, I know it is not a lot, but it should be just a temporary solution meanwhile we gather experience and money. We plan to use it just in daily trips or coastal navigation, but foremost to be our new floating home.

Good plan, and yes the budget will work. My advice is to make sure you sail it early on while you are living on it. So many people become comfortable just staying in the same place and never leave. Harbors rot ships and men.

Well, I am planning to do many miles every year because I want to have all RYA levels and I hope one day to be able to teach sailing. And there are many countries facing the north sea, so we wish to visit them all.
